This unique German ossuary houses the remains of more than 11,000 German soldiers from World War II who were brought here from 11 different burial sites. The circular mausoleum has two stories with 34 separate crypts emanating from these floors. Each crypt houses 180 individual remains; they are identified with inscribed plaques. In the center of the circle is a large simple metal cross. The cemetery is within view of Mont-St-Michel and lies along the French coast.
