Thirty-acre battlefield given by France in 1979 and part of American Battlefields Monument Commission. There is a long walk to the viewing area of the point but the route is marked with information plaques. Craters and bunkers remain from the fighting and there are viewing platforms. The site is undergoing renovations and repairs and the famous Rangers granite “dagger” had been temporarily removed in summer 2010 as the end of the famous point needed to be reinforced before more of it crumbled into the sea.
