A 221-foot tall obelisk marks the spot in Boston where the American colonials fought the British. The marker and battle actually occurred on Breed's Hill where the marker now stands. The large obelisk can be seen from great distances and is part of the National Park System. There are markers throughout the site indicating the number of units and soldiers who gave their lives.
