This tall memorial is topped with a Union soldier who looks out over a small military section of the city cemetery. On the base of the memorial is a plaque which states it honors the veterans of Vermillion County. There is also a small black mortar on the rounds near the base. The cemetery section contains veterans from the Civil War to the early 20th century. This cemetery is very near the Danville National Cemetery.
