On the edge of the town of Hallettsville, Texas is an AH-1Cobra Helicopter resting on a small stone base. The helicopter memorial was dedicated by the Lavaca County Lone Star Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans of America to honor their fallen comrades from Lavaca County. It was dedicated in 2004. A small bronze plaque lists the names of the six local men who lost their lives in the conflict. Behind the helicopter are four tall flag poles for the US, Texas, Vientam Veterans Association and the POW/MIA flags.
