This gray granite memorial stands in the shoreline veterans memorial park in New Haven. This small gray granite monument honors those from the New Haven area who gave their lives in the War on Terrorism specifically the 1st Battalion 102d Infantry unit from this area that was first formed in 1638. It has four names carved upon it. At the bottom the memorial indicates it was erected in May 2009 by Frank Carrano MSG Army Retired.
