A circular concrete wall surrounds this touching Korean War Memorial in Veterans Park overlooking Pensacola Bay. At the center of the circle is a large round, polished black granite base on which sits a large black granite monument. On each side of this monument is etched in white a map of the Korean peninsula with the battles of the war and description of the conflict also inscribed on it. On one side of the monument is a life-size statue of a serviceman carrying a small child to safety and on the other side are two statues of soldiers in winter gear; one is kneeling with a radio while the other strides in readiness with this gun at pointing forward. Around the base of the entire granite memorial are raised memorials to honor specific units that fought in the war.
