On a large stone base is set a life-size bronze sculpture of a World War I era doughboy with his rifle in his left hand and his right hand raised in a closed fist. Details included with the soldier are a bedrollk, canteen, and a small pack. Beneath the statue is plaque that lists the names of 17 Llano Count citizens who lost their lives during the war. It states "In Grateful Memory…" and at the bottom is a quote "If Ye Break Faith With Us We Will Not Sleep". It is dedicated by the Shakespeare Club of Llano, TX.
