In front of the local American Legion hall stands this bronze American doughboy soldier. The statue was sculpted by a member of the Legion chapter, Gene Mikulik, who modeled it on his father-in-law, Willie Migl who died from being gassed in France in World War I. The memorial honors all veterans from the area who have served in America’s wars.
