Standing atop a large rough cut piece of pink granite a bronze statue of a raggedly dressed Confederate soldier holds his rifle. A bronze plaque on the memorial indicates it honors the Confederate veterans of Victoria County and was placed on the Town Square by the United Daughters of the Confederacy in 1912.
