This small red granite memorial in Waterloo Park was dedicated in 1984 by the Military Order of the World Wars to honor those from Austin killed in conflicts after the Vietnam War. Inscribed upon it is the name of one servicemen killed in Operation Desert Storm, Lieutenant Commander Barry T Cooke. It has the names of 3 Austin area Marines who lost their lives in the terrorist bombing of the Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon in 1983.
