This poignant memorial rising from the north end of the football stadium honors and remembers all those young men from the Edgewood Independent School District who served in the Vietnam War and especially those who gave their lives. A ten foot granite monument rises from a base of three steps. On the monument are inscribed the Combat Infantryman’s Badge a red shield with the name of the school district as well as the names of the 52 men who were KIA or MIA. This includes the names of ten members of the Class of 1967. On a low concrete wall behind the monument are red bricks donated to honor veterans of the war.
