As part of the Texas Sesquicentennial the Falls County Historical Commission erected this granite monument to honor those from Falls County who fought in the Texas War for Independence and helped establish Falls County. Their names are inscribed on the monument. On the reverse side are men from Falls County who signed the Texas Declaration of Independence, those who served in the Texas Rangers 1830-1846, those members of the doomed Miers Expedition to Mexico 1842-1844 and those who served in the militia and home guard fighting Indians 1834-1846.
