This granite memorial consists of tablets with the names of all those Civil War veterans who settled in Bedford Texas to establish a new town. Many of those who are listed were from Bedford, Tennessee originally. The memorial is unuusal in that it lists both those from the United States and Confederate forces. The memorial is next to a small cemetery that also houses headstones honoring Civil War veterans.
