This small bronze plaque honors the "Buffalo Soldiers" of the 9th and 10th Cavalry and the 24th and 25th Infantry (Colored) Regiments who served valiantly in the Spanish-American War by charging up San Juan and El Caney Hills. The plaque was installed as part of the Centennial of the battles of the war. This plaque is adjacent to the large granite obelish honoring the Rough Riders.
